Las Vegas - Channel 29 or Channel 1?

My HDHR Flex 4K continues to choose PLP0 qam 16, which fails to tune properly. I only want it to use PLP1 qam256, which works flawlessly when I manually choose it in the Config GUI, but is not persistent. Is there a way to force it to ONLY choose the PLP1 option? Please help me alleviate this annoyance.

In HDHomeRun Config GUI does PLP1 show "lls=1". If there is no LLS the HDHomeRun will tune the PLP that has the LLS first, then switch to PLP1.

Both show lls=1. The problem is PLP0 never tunes a channel, and if the HDHR uses it, it never switches to PLP1 which DOES tune the channels properly. If it uses PLP0, I get "Unable to play channel: No Video Data". Sometimes the HDHR uses PLP0 and other times it uses PLP1. I can't determine a pattern, so I assume it's random?

Thoughts? I just launched the app and it immediately showed an error message.

When you scan for channels what does it say it will use for the channel ( from lineup.json?tuning after the scan )

Stats when PLP1 or PLP0+PLP1 are selected are 100% across the board. See screenshots.

Vegas PLP1 (expires in 1 week)

Vegas PLP0+1 (expires in 1 week)

For completeness, if ONLY PLP0 is chosen by the tuner, everything is 100% EXCEPT "Signal Quality %" which fluctuates between 0% and 100% for about 5 seconds, then fails and presents an error message.

lineup.json?tuning shows the ATSC3 channels in question are all set to "PLPConfig: 1". See screenshot.

Only thing I can think of is I hate troubleshooting when signal is 100%

They would need you to have send diagnostics on and reproduce the error... it never hurts to run that scan when diagnostics is on as well. I prefer to turn it on for the device on the device's web page but make sure to also turn it on for the app.

Don't do any of the checking with VLC or alternate means of tuning during the same time.

I'm out of Vegas using a Flex4K and I think the ATSC 3.0 channels are links to internet streams. If I'm wrong please feel free to correct. I see them on channel 29 with Signal Strength 80%, Signal Quality 100%, and Symbol Quality 100% blinking to 0% and back every second. Can't watch them with the Flex4K yet because I don't believe it has been updated to watch ATSC 3.0 streams. I hope the internet stream feature is released soon to give it a go.

Edit: After reading through the thread again I see people are tuning into Vegas ATSC 3.0 channels partially successfully, is there a reason why I can't even though I get good signal, I chose PLP1 manually with good signal and still no dice, and why is Symbol Quality going in and out, is it on purpose and that's how it works, what am I missing?

I have started sending diagnostic data. Something has changed and now I can't tune a single channel from the Sinclair lighthouse. When checking lineup.json?tuning, the PLPConfig for those channels is "0+2" now.

Config GUI shows the tuner still chooses PLP0, and those results are the same. But now, when I choose PLP1, or PLP0+1, I see the following:

Signal Strength = 100%
Signal Quality = 30-40%
Symbol Quality = 0%

None of these channels show DRM has been added. Would love to know what is going on.

It's not you. I've been trying to troubleshoot this for a long time now. Up until this last week I was able to get the ATSC3 channels to tune in by switching between them until it the Flex 4k figured it out. But now I can't get anything from the Sinclair lighthouse at all. I would call the stations and ask to speak to an engineer, but I don't feel well versed enough to have that conversation.

KVUU - FOX 5 is broadcasting an internet stream. As far as I know, they are the only ones doing that in this area at this time. The Flex 4k does not currently have the capability to tune those, but it sounds like they have been working on adding the functionality. Nickk said something about it possibly making it into the next firmware release, but I see it didn't make the beta. Will have to wait to see. When it comes to KVUU, Nickk also mentioned they have added DRM to their stream. So even if becomes possible to tune IP streams, we won't be able to get ones with DRM unless A3SA releases standards for gateway devices.

I don't have a TV with an ATSC3 tuner, so I cannot comment on how any of these streams are working in that regard.

I moved my antenna to pick up the VHF version of the channels that also broadcast on 29, but when I had it focused to pickup 29 and symbol quality 100% it would still blink in and out deliberately and consistently making it obvious it was intentional from the broadcast. I only get 2 PLP's, and I can get 1 to consistently lock at a time, when I hit view the Flex4K selects the one that's not locked to play, I'm using VLC. When using the HDHomerun app in other devices none of them pull it up (windows 11, android, atv4k)

I didn't have time to dive into this yesterday, so I'm not sure when PLP2 showed up. I know that when I last posted it was not visible in the Config GUI and only appeared today after I used the app to try to tune channels.

Looks like things are working again and Symbol Quality stays locked on both PLP's. Call your contact at the tower?

So these are being broadcasted and not internet streams?

Also I don't see and have never seen Fox 5 when tuning 29, not sure why.

it has 3 PLP's, PLP 2 qam 16 locked and it's playing the channel.
