HDHomeRun logs out middle of show - Kraig

HdhomeRun keeps logging me out in the middle of a TV show. The HdhomeRun is streaming on a Chromecast 4K on the 5Ghz wifi. Is anyone else seeing the same issue? Im seeing the same problem on two sets.

Logs out? Like is the app crashing back to the home screen?

Yes, show stops playing, and I end up at the google tv home screen. HdHomeRun logs out.

We would like to get some diagnostic data to see what is happening:

1. In a web browser go to http://hdhomerun.local
   NOTE: That address will go do the first HDHomeRun device found on your network. If you have more than one HDHomeRun device, use the "device ID" printed on the bottom of the unit instead of "hdhomerun" in the address. For example, if your device ID was 104FFFFF then you would go to http://104fffff.local
2. Click "System Menu"
3. Check the "Send diagnostic information" box (if this box is already checked, please un-check then re-check it)
4. Go back one page
5. Click "Channel Lineup"
6. Click on "Detect Channels"
7. After the scan finishes, open the HDHomeRun app
8. Go into the app settings: the gear icon in the top right corner of the "Live/Recorded/Discover/Tasks" page
9. Enable the option to "Send diagnostic information"
10. Reproduce the issue

Reply back and provide us the device ID of your HDHomeRun and the time the issue occurred we will check the logs. You can find the device ID on a label on the bottom of the HDHomeRun itself.

I have done the prep steps for Device ID: 1072E62B. / Firmware 20231214 Problem usually happens at night. I will report back with a time when it happens again.

The wifi network is a pretty robust Unifi access point system within 20 ft of the chromecast device. Checked system log nothing jumping out at the timeframes that the system log out occurs.

Problem Logs out of HD Homerun during show with remote sitting 4 ft away on table. TV goes to the Chromecast home screen happened twice on 4/15/2025
- First time - 21:37 east coast time
- Second time - 22:47 east coast time

This happens almost every night. Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Is the crash always when watching 11.1 or does it also happen on other channels? The logs suggest that something related to the parental control data is problematic, so we will probably need to get a recording from that channel that exhibits the problem for our app team to investigate. The best way to do that would be to save the following URL on a computer starting at the top of the hour and then start watching that channel at the same time, then after the app crashes, note the time. The recording will finish after 1 hour, so at that point please upload it to a file storage site like Google Drive or Dropbox, set the permissions so that anyone with the link can access it, and then send the link to support at silicondust dot com along with a link to this thread and hwo far in the crash was so we can try to reproduce the issue.

Thank you for reviewing the diagnostics. Interesting conclusion since the parental controls are set to off. It happens on multiple channels. I will try to get you a recording this week with the Hd HomeRun logout.

File has been created and uploaded to a sharing site. The sharing link was sent to silicondust dot com with a link to this thread. The video started at 8:00.   Issue occurred twice during the video at  8:21 pm and 8:42 pm

The capture has quite a bit of corruption in it and the log shows the signal quality intermittently dropping suggesting interference from something.

It plays without crashing on Windows. I will try a Chromecast with Google TV device next.

I don't see it crash in Windows or Nvidia. Only when playing on the Chromecast.
