Surely Silicondust isn't some Elon Musk hating woke outfit and that's why your account is gone? This can't be the case. I can't say it has been monitored very well anyway, but it has been there. I wanted to use it to ask a question.
Do you ever find yourself wondering if a company put out an app update just for the sake of doing so and not improve things? That's where I am when I try to navigate the recorded section of the app. My reaction is WTF dudes? Go back. You aren't helping.
Where Is Your X Account?
Re: Where Is Your X Account?
X blocked our account from seeing our own posts. Possibly related to the third party software we were using to manage X.CEG3 wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 8:26 am Surely Silicondust isn't some Elon Musk hating woke outfit and that's why your account is gone? As a paying customer of X we (in theory) get support but we only got one template reply which didn't help and they didn't respond to anything after that.
After weeks of X not working we closed our account and ended our paid access.

We have put out multiple app and UI updates recently... are you referring to the "early access to new features" episodes view?CEG3 wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 8:26 am Do you ever find yourself wondering if a company put out an app update just for the sake of doing so and not improve things? I'm talking about the early access app on FireTV and Shield. It looks good, but is far from intuitive, though I guess you can learn. Having no option to sort by show and not season in a show added as a task is not helpful. Anyway, it occurred to me to turn off early access just I after I posted, so now I'm back with the familiar. Sorry to see you leave X, but at least it seems justified and not political. That network you are on now I'm not familiar with.

Bluesky started out as a research project at Twitter in the good days then split off before the sale. It's become quite popular with people who don't want to deal with the cesspool of ads and bots that it has become post-sale.

I don't know if you tried viewing a Twitter profile while logged out or without an account lately, but it no longer appears in chronological order, and guest users can't view replies. Something that's kind of important for release notes. Even the widget that lets you embed your profile on a website no longer displays the latest tweets in order.
Threads, Instagram and Facebook defaults to an algorithm instead of chronological order, so even if you were to follow an account, it could be up to a week or more before you see their posts in your feed. And their burried "most recent" option still uses an algorithm to decide which posts and accounts will surface for you instead of just letting you see the most recent posts from all of the accounts you chose to follow.

Here are some work arounds folks might find useful (it's not rocket science)kyl416 wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 5:38 pm And their burried "most recent" option still uses an algorithm to decide which posts and accounts will surface for you instead of just letting you see the most recent posts from all of the accounts you chose to follow.
For Facebook on the web use this URL: https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr. Done.
For iPhone, tap your profile pic on the lower right of the app, tap Feeds. Done. (just tested: most recent post was 2mins old, and they got older from there). When I refreshed, I got 1 minute old posts (new) and they went from there. From that screen you can further filter by Favorites, Friends, Groups, and Pages. All still in reverse chronological order.
For the Instagram mobile app -- use the Following drop down option on the home screen. Done. (Also works on the web).
Or, just go to the account in question :p If you're relying on "push" instead of "pull" for information that is important to you, then that's on you, not the algorithm and not on those that populate a feed.
