I have tried that button twice and it still ain't playing back from the beginning I don't know what to do or how to get it I tried the options that were available the only option that's available is season record watching the beginning delete delete record and I clicked the button that says watch from the beginning twice and it keeps showing the tail end a few seconds then boots any back to though recording screen. Guess I'm just going to have to delete the show and not worry about it I hope this doesn't happen more often because getting very irritated. Is there any option to go back to the old format.

Can you please enable "send diagnostic information" in the HDHomeRun app Settings menu, try the watch-form-start option, then post back with the Device ID of your HDHomeRun.Justin.U wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 7:33 amI have tried that button twice and it still ain't playing back from the beginning I don't know what to do or how to get it I tried the options that were available the only option that's available is season record watching the beginning delete delete record and I clicked the button that says watch from the beginning twice and it keeps showing the tail end a few seconds then boots any back to though recording screen.nickk wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 7:26 am Press Right... the default option there is to watch from the beginning.
Re: New episodes view
It's already turned on to send diagnostic information. I'm just about to delete my recordings and give up. Just try again what you said and still don't work.nickk wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 7:45 amCan you please enable "send diagnostic information" in the HDHomeRun app Settings menu, try the watch-form-start option, then post back with the Device ID of your HDHomeRun.Justin.U wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 7:33 amI have tried that button twice and it still ain't playing back from the beginning I don't know what to do or how to get it I tried the options that were available the only option that's available is season record watching the beginning delete delete record and I clicked the button that says watch from the beginning twice and it keeps showing the tail end a few seconds then boots any back to though recording screen.nickk wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 7:26 am Press Right... the default option there is to watch from the beginning.

Re: New episodes view
I can see the logs... what is the name of the show?
Re: New episodes view
It happens on Walker Texas Ranger and also Matlock the new version.
Re: New episodes view
The new episodes view just caused me to delete a recording I wanted to watch from the start? On iPad these two options are way too close together and very easy to tap by mistake!!!
Please add a delayed delete and recover option so that we can get back deleted by accident content!

Re: New episodes view
We'll probably add a confirmation prompt, but I wonder about the idea of having a "trash can" that hides/moves the recording and then actually deletes after about a week (of course, there would be an option to manually empty this for when you need space). For all those situations where a roommate/spouse/kid/whoever deletes something you still didn't watch. One could navigate to the "trash can" and then select a "delete now" or "recover" option, etc.ronj wrote: Wed Apr 09, 2025 1:15 am The new episodes view just caused me to delete a recording I wanted to watch from the start? Re: New episodes view
If you are going to do such hide feature, I would love the hide feature of discover brought back, the dvr could do similar and hide some recordings.
Edit: I have not looked at if ".hidden" messes up upcoming episodes yet for ui if one were to select such a show and it has been awhile since I have even tried the feature as it isn't as important to me after losing 500 channels of cable.

+1 On delete confirmation. I've lost a couple of videos by accident already.
Thanks!
Re: New episodes view
Hey, guys -
This new interface often results in somewhat nonsensical listings. Our LG TVs and macOS/iOS apps are showing the new format, but AppleTV is showing the old format. The bad news here is that the AppleTV is the one that provides reliable listings. All devices have been updated to the most recent OS available. I've attached two screenshots, one from the macOS app using the new interface, and one from our AppleTV using the old interface.
1) In the image I uploaded from the new interface, Episode 99 and Episode 111 are listed as being episodes from April 19, 2025 and April 15, 2025. Today is April 12th, 2025. Both of those episodes were released and recorded earlier this year. It's clearly wrong.
2) Episode 109, from February 7th, 2025 is listed as "Coming Soon" in the new interface, apparently on "Monday at 6:00pm". I've looked at the listings and I do not believe that is an upcoming episode (and I believe it's one we may already have watched). It's also not clear what Monday the interface is referring to. It is not listed at all in the old interface, which is likely appropriate.
3) As above, the interface appears to be guessing the air dates of the programs, which are sometimes wildly wrong. On other shows, this results in situations where both "Seasons" and "Years" are listed, and the shows are sort of randomly dispersed between the two. The old interface always simply listed each show in order of recording.
4) The new interface and the old interface are sorted in the opposite direction. The old interface has always been newest to oldest, and the new interface is sorted oldest to newest. It doesn't appear to be possible to change the sort order of either, so some of our devices are in the opposite order of the others, making it very difficult to figure out watching episodes in a somewhat sequential fashion when moving between devices. It's not possible to change the sort order?
5) The channel isn't listed in the recording info on the new interface. Sometimes in our market the same show can be syndicated on multiple stations but where different stations are showing different episodes. It's difficult to figure out what's coming from what. Again, instead of a chronological timeline, the episodes sort of get randomly assigned by airdate or season in a way that's difficult to understand.
6) We have had devices change to the new format, revert to the old format and then revert back to the new format without any sort of update or interaction on our part. This is very annoying, especially since the episodes are listed in the opposite order between the two formats. It shouldn't just be switching around and back without any user notification or intervention.
Is it possible to revert to the old listing format across on our devices until the bugs are worked out? The old interface has worked fine for years, while the new interface has limited information that is often clearly wrong. The new one is a more attractive interface for sure, but that means nothing if it's not accurate and there are radically inconsistent interfaces between our devices.
Many thanks.

Re: New episodes view
Several annoying problems with new UI including one problem I have not found a solution for.
Version 20250316 (APP) / 20250408a (UI)
Many complaints about hard to find information have already been mentioned in this forum - I will not repeat those.
Getting to controls such as what channels to use for specific task are not available all the time. In some cases where
there ia a red dot showing one can click an find some controls. After a recording has completed and there are no
"comming soon" episodes, there is nowhere to click to view the channel of or change the channel of a recording.
If one does a "Discover" and selects a show to record and watch later, when the recording is complete; there is no way
to access the channel number of the recording. I use this "feature" to search the live guide for other shows that I may want
to view.
When UI changes are as extensive as some of these, a Help feature needs to be added to illuminate where all the controls
have been relocated.
Another problem that has been around for a long time is the automatic not recording of a show that was broadcast sometime
in the past. We do not necessarily keep all shows that we have watched but often want to re-watch a show when it is
re-broadcast again - such as mysteries. There needs to be an override to stop this skipping feature. Another solution is to
not record if it is stored LOCALY.
There is a feature that I have requested before that is still missing: for a given task that repeats over and over (lik News),
there needs to be a way for a given task to limit the number of recordings (throwing away the oldest when the limit is exceeded).
For example, 3 days of local News is by far as much as you want to keep. This should be on a Task be Task basis.

Re: New episodes view
Thank you! There's another related multi-user issue. The latest recording sits at the top of the episode view until it is watched by someone in the family. The DVR listings page shows the show icons in the order of what the latest recordings are. That's very helpful as it helps me to think to myself, wow I haven't seen that yet and then pop into the episodes view. It would be helpful to find the latest recording up at the top of that view in the featured area as if it hadn't been watched at all with a restart button. That would have prevented me from having to scroll down the list to find the last recorded episode and then attempt to restart it from the beginning altogether. That said, I think the delayed delete feature is still needed. And yes, a delete now button is helpful. But it would also be good for the system to automatically delete (reclaim) the oldest thing in the trash when space was needed to facilitate a new recording.NedS wrote: Wed Apr 09, 2025 4:05 pmWe'll probably add a confirmation prompt, but I wonder about the idea of having a "trash can" that hides/moves the recording and then actually deletes after about a week (of course, there would be an option to manually empty this for when you need space). EDIT: And if you build the delete functionality properly, why not support new settings in the recording engine to keep only a fixed number of recordings? That way I can finally setup my news recordings to keep only 2 episodes instead of having to go back in the episode view and delete a bunch of them every month. That way the system will automatically delete an episode once the 3rd episode, in this case, needs to be recorded. The whole "reclaim deleted space" functionality would really help in automatically managing disk space!
Re: New episodes view
Once the "New Episodes View" is loaded there is no turning if with the "Early access to New features ".
This new version is NOT ready for prime time.

Re: New episodes view
@nickk @NedS I'm a little confused on the delete + re-record options. If the show has good listings with full season episodes, the choice is obvious and I usually don't want to re-record the same episode again.
But what about those shows that have the same description for every episode? If I don't click re-record for that generic description episode, do I make the series recording useless? Or do the options still really mean delete or delete-and-re-record like they did in the old UI?
