Setting up the PVR funtions in **** for a NAS

Post by ctviggen »

Hi all,

I had to install the new version of ****. This killed the old HomeRun software, but I was able to re-add that. I can see all the channels.

However, the PVR functionality to my NAS is gone. I set this up so long ago, I don't remember how I did it. Can anyone tell me how to re-add PVR functionality to my NAS in ****? (The HD homerun app has the PVR to NAS installed correctly, it's just I lost this under ****.)

Thank you.

I have no idea what you're asking with all the string filtering. 😂

That's weird. I did not do that. It's k o d i. Is that not allowed to be discussed?

I did a search for this, but I get a ton of answers with systems that I don't have.

Thank you. That does seem to be it. I'll report back once my daughter stops watching the TV and I can install.

It's strange I did not find that during my search. I assume my search terms weren't great.

So, that worked well. Thank you.

However, the channels are completely messed up. When I look at the HD Homerun application, the channel numbers are correct. For instance, MSNBC is 727.

When I go to the guide in K o d i, there are two channels for MSNBC, and neither one of those is 727. In fact, in the add on for the PVR, I turned on the channel number before the name, so now MSNBC is "727 MSNBC". But the guide looks something like this:

322 - 727 MSNBC
323 - MSNBC HD

So, the some channel is there twice. And the highest listed channel is somewhere around 680.

I can't type in "727" and get there. But all the previous recordings are working correctly (for instance, I record a local channel for weather, and it's somewhere in the 800s, and it's recording fine.)

Any idea how I fix this?

Everything I have tried doesn't work. Thank you.

In Settings> PVR & Live TV> Channels make sure "Use channel numbers from backend" is turned on.

This version doesn't seem to have that option. Under "Channels" in settings for PVR & Live TV, there are "use channel group order from backend(s)" and "use channel order from backend(s)", and I have both of them on.

There are other options, like "allow backend channel numbers with more than one PVR add on", "channel manager", "group manager", and "search for channels". The last one doesn't work, as the channels are supposed to come from the HD Homerun. I tried "channel manager", but that has me dealing with individual channels, and the numbering is messed up anyway.

I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

And, this installation did not fix one of the problems I was having, which was that **** would randomly go into the background, behind the taskbar. That happened again today. When this happens, I have to find my tiny keyboard, hit a button, then **** fills the screen again. If I don't do that, then the remote presses don't get to ****. I'll work on that one later.

Maybe you need to have the settings on Expert?

Which version of K o d i are you using? I'm using the one from yesterday. It has different options than what you show.

I tried to paste in the picture I took, but I don't see a way to do that. How did you paste the picture? For "insert image", it requires an http address. I just want to paste a picture.

The screenshot is from version 21.1.0 on Debian (Flatpak) with Tvheadend for the DVR backend. I also have version 21.1.0 on my Shield with the Zuki PVR addon for HDHomeRun DVR backend. I only posted the screenshot from the Debian machine because it's easier to get a screenshot on that than it is on the Shield but the settings menus are identical on both.

To post a picture you have to upload it somewhere then post a link to it using the img tags. I use https://imgbb.com/ but any image hosting site should work.

I just downloaded and installed the latest Zuki addon on Debian just to make sure nothing was different.

Thank you. So, I uploaded the picture, pasted the address with the correct image tags...and nothing shows up. If I enter that same address into a tab, it works. Do I have to limit the size?

I'll look at the other info when I can.

If you are using ImgBB, after you upload the image under embed codes select "BBCode full linked" then copy the address and paste it in the forum as-is.
