Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
Often when repeatedly using the fast forwarding control, the video quits and returns to the list of recorded programs.
This did not happened until a few months ago, it was never an issue before this.
Thanks for any assistance with this.

What player device are you seeing this on?
Re: Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
Sorry for the delay. I've been having considerable trouble logging into the forum, and finally had to create and entirely new account.
The devise I'm using this on is a Fire TV stick. I don't have this issue on any other of several devises I use HDH on.
I hope this helps.

Re: Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
I'm seeing a similar issue in recordings and have for a couple of months.
My scenario on a firestick:
Playing recording, if I hit any FF or Rew (ff, rew or the 10 min skip) once, all normal behavior. If I hit any FF or Rew a second time BEFORE the first is complete (defined as normal video has returned and audio is back on), it will nearly always end the playback and return to the recorded screen as if I had hit the back button. Note: the progress indicator for the show i was watching shows that the entire show had been watched, regardless of where I was at when this behavior occurred.
This never occurs the first time I press any ff or rew. Only when pressed a second time before the first one completes.
This behavior is very irritating, particularly when trying to advance or return to a specific point in the show or football game.

Re: Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
I’m new to Hdhomerun and using it with a Firestick 4k Max. I’m having the exact same issue with fast forwarding as described in these earlier posts. Anyone know of a fix for this issue?
Re: Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
Have you verified by another means/client that the recording is complete? I see this behavior when the recording has ended prematurely (due to poor signal or otherwise) and I'm inadvertently skipping past the end of the recording.
It wouldn't hurt to have a little warning icon indicating such recordings, though.

Yes. This issue happens on all recordings.

Looking into it.

Re: Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
I have seen the same problem, also on a firestick 4k Max.
I can fairly reliably cause it to happen if i press fast forward a second time before it finishes the actions from the first keypress. If I go back and restart the same recording, and try to ff to get to the same point in the recording that I had been at, I have to be careful not to press fast forward before it finished the first one is it will repeat the error. Watching the rest of the recording works prefectly normally as long as I don't 'double up' the fast forward commands

Happens here too, along with a more frequent issue...Bobstr wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 11:04 am I have seen the same problem, also on a firestick 4k Max.

Playback quitting randomly during recording playback saying "Unable to play stream"...
But if you start playing over again, plays fine all the way through. Firestick 4k Max only.

Re: Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
I have seen this problem too with my new Fire Stick 4K Max, and I don't ever remember seeing it with my older Fire Stick 4K on my bedroom TV - "unable to play channel , end of stream" when fast forwarding during a recording.
Re: Fast Forwarding Quits to Recordings List
Since I started this post, I thought I should add that I have two TVs, one uses Fire Stick Max, the other uses the previous Fire Stick (top of the line). This issue ONLY happens with the Fire Stick Max. Never with the previous Fire Stick model.
I hope this can be fixed soon, since watching pre-recorded football games can be very tricky when you're having to rewind to a particular location each time the error occurs, without going too far and seeing the score!
