Sort by Column Headers
Sort by Column Headers
I have recorded all seasons and episodes of Law and Order.
When I go to watch, I want to want to watch them in order from earliest episode to latest episode.
Something has changed in the last month or so.
The Android TV app now requires two clicks of the episode column header to get the proper sorting.
This is a bit of a hassle on Android TV since it requires navigation with the remote control.
Can this be changed back to "ascending" sort on the first click of the episode column header?

Re: Sort by Column Headers
I also noticed that the first click on the "Recorded" date column does nothing.
Only on the second click does the column reverse order.
For some reason the sorting algorithm has been changed to do the opposite of what it used to do.

Re: Sort by Column Headers
Can you please try the "early access to new features" option in the Settings menu...
Re: Sort by Column Headers
Nick,
Access to new features produced android TV version 20240801/20240809c
First click on "Recorded" date now changes the order.
But, first click on "Episode" produces a descending sort with last episode on top.
When watching a series in order the first episode should be on top.

Re: Sort by Column Headers
Good. It defaults to Recorded descending and clicking on it now flips it to Recorded ascending.
This is by design - first click sorts most recent first. Clicking again will flip it to ascending (oldest first).
Re: Sort by Column Headers
That makes no sense to me.
Why would I want to watch a series in reverse episode order?
First click gives the wrong episode order.

Re: Sort by Column Headers
Because usually one has already watched the older episodes and needs to see the more recent ones.
Re: Sort by Column Headers
I guess I am the only one on this forum that prefers to watch S01E01 before S18E22.
To achieve that, I can manage two clicks instead of one.
I am still wondering why this changed; for years I only needed one click.

Re: Sort by Column Headers
I recently bought an Apple TV 4K and installed the HDHomeRun app on it. The column headers cannot be selected/clicked to change the sort order.
I also noticed fewer options such as no early access to new features nor a way to scan channels.
Version 20240801 (App) / 20240801 (UI).

Re: Sort by Column Headers
The change to ascending first was agreed... new release is out.
Re: Sort by Column Headers
Confirming 20240812 (UI) First click on "Episode" header sorts with S01E01 at top of list for both Android and Windows.
Thank You.
Thank You.
Re: Sort by Column Headers
Apple TV is being worked on - the same sorting will be in the next Apple TV release.
Re: Sort by Column Headers
Over the weekend I noticed HDHomeRun had been updated on my Apple TV - column sorting now works.
Thanks!
