I was just going to buy a Flex 4k to start getting OTA 4k when i stumbled into this. My plan was to connect it to my Emby server. Can someone confirm that forgelink is not an enhanced version of the flex 4k?? Then i can go ahead and buy one.

Note: since im using Emby i don't care about HDMI... I would care, however, it foregelink somehow enabled DRM channels on Emby. Thanks.

Forgelink is a new product for us, not TV related.

Not at all. The HDHomeRun 4K and the HDHomeRun MDU are our flagship products.

Based off the icon logo... a wired ethernet / WiFi thing. But I'm just guessing.

"no" nickk and company will not play that kind of game.

unlike other companies that abandon their customers over newer products or requires upgrades to services or purchase newer products, Silicondust theism is as it was said "you build a better mouse-trap america will beat a path to your door."

as long as there are hdhomeruns that are working, they are all supported.

ISE come and gone...
NAB come and gone...
Infocomm come and gone...
IBC come and gone...
Other industry shows where appropriate come and gone...

Is this going to be a CES announcement (hopefully) at this point?

Industry trade shows aren't the spectacular consumer events they once were. Most have reverted back to just being a way for people in the industry to network together, and are less known for major product announcements. Even before COVID cancellation years, they were starting to shrink and be less of a focus for the end consumer, then COVID happened and some of them still haven't even come back.

We still occasionally send people to these types of shows, but it's less important these days.

This has been true for quite some time for most of these events....

And the "in the hallway, without attribution" communications between the players (that matter) have always been the most important parts of the events.

If you need/want those "in the hallways, without attribution" communications, you still need to be at the places where you have such access. If you want to be a follower (rather than one of the participants in the decisions), you don't need to attend.

One can certainly have issues with the "in the hallways, without attribution" discussions that happen without *your* ability to be part of the discussion, but there is nothing new about this type of "smoke filled room" decision making.
