Can I record DRM station?

Post by LarrySB »

Someone please make it easy for me? I am new to the whole ATSC 3.0 subject and am looking for a simple answer. I have the 4k and both NBC and Fox in my area are DRM encrypted. I know and see that I cannot watch those live. But I thought, from posts here, that I could record by selecting the 1XX for the recording. It is unclear whether that post told me to select 1XX or All channels for the recording. I do not want to select all channels because that will also record the 1.0 channels...requiring me to delete the 1.0 recordings. But maybe that is what I would need to do? Thanks!!
Larry

I may have misread a post in another thread....I thought it said recording was no problem. But maybe it was referring to the capability of HDHR just recording on 1.0 if the channel is available?

You cannot currently view or record encrypted atsc3 channels. You would want to select all channels so it can fall back to an available channel but note it would typically default to the regular atsc channel anyway unless the atsc3 was marked as a favorite and the regular atsc channel wasn't. Note that all channels still will only make one recording from one channel not multiple recordings from multiple channels... it just makes all channels available for the rule to try from.
