Silcondust HD HomeRun Prime Broadcast Capability

Post by imanjunk1963 »

Does the latest HD HomeRun Prime support only 720p, 1080i AND 1080P broadcasts by networks via the installed cable card I have from Optimum aka Altis company assuming the networks are broadcasting one of them or is it limited to a max of just one of those rates?
Will / can it have a firmware update that will recognize 4k broadcasts if networks ever do that through the cable card?

The HDHomeRun PRIME supports 4K content on cable - detection and support was added to the firmware a few years ago.

Fantastic. I was hoping this to be true and I think I noticed improvement of pictures on certain broadcast channels somewhat on a 1080P plasma but now on a 4k TV.
And I just updated to the latest firmware of July 2023 as I recall it was. I have had the box some decade or more now as I recall too. Great product so far.
