Again congratulations! Although the HDHomerun 4K products may not be the first to get NextGen certified for an external tuner, they are the first on the market you can actually buy today. Good job!

Nickk if you would like to compile a list of devices that we users can confirm that ATSC 3.0 is working on, we should note what hardware we are using.

Hopefully this means the HDHomeRun will be shown on the certified devices page soon. That will be a little bit of free advertising.

Note that certified devices page is for those that also include security verification so that will probably need to wait until encryption support is available. They also may need to add a Gateway category as I would consider a receiver a STB that plugs into your TV, not a gateway device that serves the TVs or something that plugs into them.

What is the significance of this certification to the consumer if a device can be "certified" but not able to watch DRM channels? Sorry for being blunt but that's misleading advertising.

Nextgen TV certification is a nextgen/pearltv thing. You might want to complain to them and let us know what their response is.

It is expected that Nextgen TV logo'ing will require DRM at some point. We will have DRM support before then.

The certification process we completed was important for industry reasons. The big announcement will be with DRM support.

Does that mean the "optional" feature will become "mandatory" at that point? Hopefully A3SA and other parties stop dragging their feet so you can enable the support sooner rather than later. It isn't going to help the third party DVR products (yes, Plex), but at least I'll still have a solution for time-shifting content.

My guess is that DRM will always be "optional" on paper for legal reasons.

I signed up but no sign of anything to do with ATSC 3 or the HD Homerun other that the fact they are giving you 30 days free of their free service. (Huh?)
