How to retire the slice on W10 UI 20200114g

Post by flross » Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:18 am

I have my remote Back button mapped to the Windows Back button which used to retire the slice when it was displayed. Now it goes back to the L/R/D/T screen. The slice display will not time out and go away. The only way I've found is to click the mouse in the Live display area. Should the back button be mapped to something else just to retire the slice display?

I'm seeing it. Will report up the tree.

It's not an ideal workaround, but for now you can dismiss the guide by just selecting the channel you're already on.

On Android/FireTV, another workaround is to navigate from the slice guide to the navigation bar on the bottom (hit left once). Then back will dismiss the guide.

On Windows, the Esc key should dismiss the guide without taking you out of Live TV.

Seems to be fixed for now in non-early access 0117. Early access, oddly enough, is still on 0116b.

As stated in the changelog... 16b fixed a trash can (though not sure that was only fix or what else they took out from 16 as I can't imagine fixing a trash can caused such havoc yesterday which 16b also fixed) , 17 fixed the back.

I would really like any more updates out on early access for at least a day prior to release as then there is at least something to go back to... better yet also allow access to others deemed stable. At one time windows app had a hidden feature on its hamburger menu to specify such url.

Yep, works correctly on Win10 UI 0117. Thanks for the quick response.
