Current Record versions for WD MyCloud

Post by elabra » Wed Jan 15, 2020 7:28 pm

Just installed RECORD Engine on my WD MyCloud from the kickstart after a long time and notice that the version on the MyCloud is not the same as my 2nd RECORD running on my Win 10 system.... is this the latest version for MyCloud Single NAS?

Thanks

Both are considered latest depending on who you ask... as 621 was the latest release and 815 is latest beta. If you plan on using a roku you must be on latest beta.

I thought they had "fixed" such at one time on latest beta windows software as I know it didn't get such at first... i seem to remember a couple weeks in august that it did after some reported it didn't but also remember later reading that nas install only installs release.

Personally I would install manually and just update the engine using the regular linux install (since you already have the rest of what is "unique" to wd up and running) but you could also follow the manual wd beta install instructions that are located at https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/dvr:nas:wd:single

(You may need to scroll down quite a bit)

I think the only difference between the two versions is the Roku DVR support. If you really want to, there is a beta for the WD MyCloud that you can install using the HDHomeRun Setup utility, but if you don't have a Roku then it shouldn't matter: https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/dvr:nas ... r_software
