Streaming stick recommendation

Post by snarl16 » Thu Nov 07, 2019 4:57 pm

I currently have a Roku on my Panasonic TV but am not able to receive sound when using the HDHR app. I understand it's a problem with audio conversion. Is the fire TV stick working well with the HDHR app? I've seen write a few posts on here indicating there's some problems with the 4K fire stick. Are the problems limited to that model only?

Except in rare cases, there are almost no major issues with any modern fire tv device, and those that exist we typically fix as quickly as possible.

There's a new version of the Android app that was finally approved by Amazon today that we're hopeful clears up the issues with the Fire TV Stick 4K. The Cubes seem to be fine.

Note that FireTV devices can't play protected content from CableCARD. If that is something you need then a Android TV product or XBox One might be a better choice.

Thanks for the replies. This would be for OTA streaming only. I also have a media center pc hooked up for DVR. I'm mostly just looking at options so that I don't always have to turn on the PC and change inputs if I just want to put the news or something live like that on. Might give the fire stick a try.
