Re: QNAP QPKG for DVR Record Engine

Post by Phrede »

Today I noticed HDHR can not access my recordings on my QNAP. So I started investigating and found this thread. Since I had an issue anyway why not move up from the QPKG?
I've got some experience with Container Station but not a huge amount. I'm confused with " 3. Open the Container Station and let it create the Container Share" in the Wiki. Let it?

Anyone interested in a little hand holding?

For first time installing Container Station it will want to create a share to store the container downloads, etc..
If I remember rightly it prompts you to OK it to create the share.. so click OK.
My QNAP is completely cleared out so I can sell it and I don't plan to access it to find out what the actual prompt is.. so doing it from memory.

If you need further help just post over on container thread viewtopic.php?t=73757 and mention you are following the QNAP wiki instructions.

Thanks for the reply. That explains it since I've had container station installed and running for a while for other things. I'll try posting there.

Just want to check again. Would anyone have any advice? Thanks

I was able to get this QPKG to work again. Thank you everyone for your help!

I am still having issues with recording live tv. When I hit the recording control while watching live TV, I can't find the recording anywhere. It doesn't make a folder for the show in the recording folder and it can't be found in the live TV folder. Don't know if this is related, but I noticed is there is a fault.log that has been generated. Looking at contents of the log below it is not very descriptive. Does anyone know what the issue might be?

I'm kind of on the tail end here and it's a long shot..... The NAS recording in the HDHR setup is set? No VPNs on, QNAP shared folder is HDHomeRunDVR?

This is similar to viewtopic.php?t=77496
@NedS mentioned a possible write issue, but no update since Nov22
Make sure you running an engine >= 20221031
Am sure the support team will need more details like a a device ID, QTS version, etc.

EDIT: I just recalled you had started to run the container - can you also confirm this is the QPKG and NOT the container.
