Attempting to install or run the Digital Cable Advisor in Windows Media Center in Windows 8.1 may result in an application hang/crash.
Workaround: install the DCA manually, and use the override from Missing Remote to bypass the need to run it inside WMC.
The DCA can be downloaded from the following links. Make sure that you download the one that matches your version of Windows.

Download and run the override from http://www.missingremote.com/guide/over ... a-center-7 . You must have a (free) account on the MissingRemote site in order to download it. Be sure to read and follow the installation instructions.
Note, this override does not bypass the need to use supported hardware for video playback.
