If program is marked as copy-never by your cable provider the channel will work in WMC LiveTV mode but it will not record. This may be seen on some pay sporting events.
If you attempt to record a program marked as copy-never WMC will report "<name> cannot be recorded. Restrictions set by the broadcaster and/or originator of the content prohibit recording of this content."
You can check the copy-protection flags set by your cable provider by tuning a channel in WMC, then going to the device webpage, Status Menu, Tuner N, and checking the CCI protection line.
If you believe a channel or program is incorrectly flagged as copy-never please contact your cable provider.
