New guide-centric UI approach
Re: New guide-centric UI approach
Yes bring back the exit function. I use a Omni Fire TV, but also have a Onn box attached and now the CEC button takes me to the FireTV home when I want to just exit and go to the Onn TV home page. Also get rid of that spalsh screen, or at least lower the volume.
Re: New guide-centric UI approach
I also support bringing back the ability to exit the app either by pressing the back button or putting an “Exit” option somewhere in the app. Up until this “upgrade” I have been able to use my TV’s remote for everything, I now need to have the remote that came with my Shield box just to get out of the HomeRun app. Not sure how making something more complicated than it was is considered an upgrade.
I would also like to see the Live TV option brought back to the top menu as it was before or perhaps as a fifth option on the top menu perhaps something like:
Live | Guide | Recorded | Discover | Tasks

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
Exit handling fixed, following the way Amazon do things with their apps.
Re: New guide-centric UI approach
Thank you very much for listening to your customers!!!
Now to just bring back the Live TV option on the top menu as suggested in my previous post. Is that doable?

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
Thanks Nick!! Works great so far! And no splash screen! Yay!
Re: New guide-centric UI approach
We are considering removing the guide option from the Live TV bottom overlay.
The overlay will continue to provide the slice guide down the right hand side, and pressing Escape/Back from Live TV will get you the grid guide.

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
Please don't remove the Guide option from the Live TV bottom overlay. It's very useful to me down there.

It is faster/easier to get to the guide by pressing the back button...leerandall wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 9:31 am Please don't remove the Guide option from the Live TV bottom overlay. It's very useful to me down there.

The bottom overlay option is easiest to get to in Windows with the mouse.nickk wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 11:19 amIt is faster/easier to get to the guide by pressing the back button...leerandall wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 9:31 am Please don't remove the Guide option from the Live TV bottom overlay. Re: New guide-centric UI approach
I still have to hit the back button to get the Live TV bottom overlay to go away after changing channels.

Guide and X are the same effort when using a mouse...leerandall wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 11:27 amThe bottom overlay option is easiest to get to in Windows with the mouse.nickk wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 11:19 amIt is faster/easier to get to the guide by pressing the back button...leerandall wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 9:31 am Please don't remove the Guide option from the Live TV bottom overlay. I am not seeing that... what platform are you using?Tom1272 wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 11:30 am I still have to hit the back button to get the Live TV bottom overlay to go away after changing channels.
Re: New guide-centric UI approach
Thank you for the new Guide page. I really like being able to view the guide without the distraction/noise of a live channel behind it.
The only problem that I am encountering with the new Guide page is that in Widows 10 the last channel in my lineup is getting cut off. Only half of the row is being displayed even if I scroll down to that row.
