no live TV. Only recorded shows up when powered on
Re: no live TV. Only recorded shows up when powered on
Any reason it’s still taking forever to load channels? All the channels on my cable card work but they take about 30 seconds to appear when I tune to a channel. When I watch on the plex app they work fine. I just like the HDHomerun app better than the others. But this delay is killing me.
Re: no live TV. Only recorded shows up when powered on
That likely means a record engine issue.
Can you please turn on "send diagnostic information" in the Settings menu of the HDHomeRun app, tune a channel, then post back with the Device ID of your HDHomeRun.

Anything? I'm still having the issue.

I’m still having the lagging issue on channels other then local. Even though they’re all coming through the cable card the local channels pop right on but any cable channel ie. ESPN, tbs, USA, cnn all lag about 30 seconds before coning on. I am going to reboot the hdhomerun primes now to see if that helps. Can there be something else that’s causing this?
Rebooting did not help.
For shits and giggles I downloaded NextPVR. I haven’t used it in years. But I figured I’d see if the lagging would be better outside the HDHOMERUN app. It completely is. There is no lag whatsoever when changing channels in the nextpvr app. Only in the hdhomerun app and the Plex app for some strange reason.

Make sure you run a channel scan and restart the dvr engine. The app if it detects a dvr plays through the dvr engine and it may have some stale data for the channel list (should be ok within 2 hours though) ir have other issues. After a few times the app might then tune directly.
Plex typically transcodes and on some platforms will also use hls which needs around 30 seconds for a buffer. It also sometimes can get confused if trying to trsnscide h.264 to h 264 and actually take longer when it shouldn't even need to do the transcode (it's been a long time since I've seen that though).
In hsc/sdv areas it can sometime take that long for the ta to request the channel (some hsc areas seem to take forever)... if you first did such in the app then moved to something else, often the results are now in cache of the hsc/ta so the next request may tune in more quickly).

Thank you. I did the channel scan then rebooted the NAS. Now it’s working perfectly.signcarver wrote: Sat Sep 13, 2025 8:56 am Make sure you run a channel scan and restart the dvr engine.
