I have a hdhr5-4k. If you start in live tv mode and wait long enough instead of starting playback you sometimes get the no video data message. Gen 1 fire tv stick 4K and atsc 1.0. But since I don't have DVR I prefer roku and it still works.

Is the app tuning to a channel that has signal if you watch it on another device?

I have both a roku and fire tv stick on the same TV. You can switch to roku and tune it. The fire tv stick sometimes will eventually tune. But it has appeared to time out with the no video message a few times.

I just tried the it again it took over 20 seconds for the flash screen to appear. But the after that the ATSC 1.0 channels played. But for the 2 equivalent ATSC 3.0 channels (no DRM) 1 had a failure of no video data.

I have 2 ATSC 3.0 channels owned by the same company that broadcast on the same RF. They are located in the same building using the same equipment. Now when I first tune the 1st one it waits awhile and gets the no video data. I immediately try to tune the 2nd. It tunes and I switch back to the first and it now works.

maybe it's not the app but the updated firmware. I don't watch Live ATSC 3.0 the frequently since I usually use roku.
