Is this a restriction of the software?
I can record non-DRM channels OK on a PC based server and a QNAP server
HDHomerun DVR not recording DRM channels??
Re: HDHomerun DVR not recording DRM channels??
SiliconDust has clearly identifies that their ATSC 3.0 tuners can not currently decrypt or record DRM content.
They are restricted by the A3SA as they can come up with a software solution for encrypted content, but the A3SA controls the DRM keys.

Only WMC can record cablecard drm and i believe the time to setting that up may be long gone other than getting an old windows 7 machine previously set up for such.

Wouldn't the PlayReady stuff be an issue on Windows 7? I know Microsoft killed the servers.

Re: HDHomerun DVR not recording DRM channels??
That is why it needed to be previously set up as it is "impossible" to set up today. And any update can risk killing such.
There are platforms that can handle cablecard drm via dtcp-ip for live tv but not for recording.
