Hi folks,
I'm sure they'll eventually add the ability to easily delete multiple recordings to HDHomeRun, but I'm sick of waiting around, so
I wrote a nice, very simple web page with javascript that gives you a nice UI for deleting multiple recordings.
You can find it here. Free for all: https://github.com/slimandslam/hdhomeru ... on-manager

Re: Easy Multiple Recording Deletion
I am surprised there are no replies to your (tvlooker) posting. This is an amazing piece of work and usable first time in. So a big THANK YOU for doing this. I didn't really need it's functionality so much as I wanted to see a code example of how to extract file information from my HD devices and this was a great example. I will be using it for it's intended purpose of course ( I still remember deleting about 100 and more episodes of a particular sitcom that I didn't want any more). The project I am interested in doing is automation in moving the media files off of the attached drive to a network drive. I think there is software at SiliconDust to have it recorded to network drives directly but I would want to time shift that to less trafficked network times. Anyway I am not sure if I can succeed in this since I am a newbie programmer especially with html. Anyway KUDOS to a great effort. choris
Re: Easy Multiple Recording Deletion
Thanks for this even if it's unfortunately not working for me. I use a Linux desktop and the LibreWolf browser. For reasons unknown http://hdhomerun.local has never resolved for me but of course using the IP address works fine. Doesn't seem to work with this however. When I supply the IP address, I get the following error:
The recordings page opens fine in the browser and can be retrieved with curl and what-not, but I guess since I'm loading the file from the local computer directly, via file:/// syntax, it won't work, right? I assume I need to spin up a local server instead. Are there other ways to make it work?
Code: Select all
Failed to load recordings from http://192.168.1.11/recorded_files.json. If your browser console shows a CORS error, you need to open this page from the same network context as the HDHomeRun device, or run it via a local file/server with browser security relaxed for local testing.
