Darwin, NT (Australia): guide not matched for 15 channels

Post by bmanfield »

HDHomeRun CONNECT (HDHR4-2DT), firmware 20260313, antenna, Darwin NT.
Device ID: 12304737

I ran a fresh channel scan today (56 channels, same as before). The guide still only covers 37 of them.

Channels with no guide data (frequency / program number from lineup.json?tuning):

Ch 1 10 HD DDT 557.5 MHz program 2074
Ch 9 9HD Darwin 550.5 MHz program 1793
Ch 10 10 HD DDT 557.5 MHz program 2202
Ch 11 10 comedy 550.5 MHz program 2138
Ch 12 10 drama 550.5 MHz program 2106
Ch 15 10 HD DDT 557.5 MHz program 2170
Ch 73 SBN 557.5 MHz program 2401
Ch 74 7mate 557.5 MHz program 2337
Ch 77 TVSN 557.5 MHz program 2433
Ch 91 9GemHD Darwin 550.5 MHz program 1797
Ch 92 9Go!HD Darwin 550.5 MHz program 1800
Ch 93 9Life Darwin 550.5 MHz program 1796
Ch 4 First Nations TV 578.5 MHz program 2817
Ch 42 Tourism TV 578.5 MHz program 2818
Ch 43 Business TV 578.5 MHz program 2819

Channel 90 (9HD Darwin, program 1794) is matched, but its duplicate on channel 9 (program 1793) isn't. All the Ten/DDT channels, 7mate, SBN, TVSN and Nine's multichannels are missing. The broadcasters' own on-air EPG carries full listings for all of these, so the data exists.

ABC NEWS (ch 24) is 1.5 hours late. For example, today the guide shows "ABC News Day" at 13:00 ACST, but the broadcast EPG and the actual broadcast have it at 11:30 ACST. It looks like eastern daylight time is being treated as Darwin time for this channel. Every other ABC and SBS channel is correct.

I am not seeing any mapping issues for the main network channels at this time, which Google says is 10:34 AM on 21 October Darwin time. Our guide provider does not have listings for First Nations TV, Tourism TV, or Business TV. We have also had reports of timezone-related issues on the ABC News channel for WA and have a ticket open for that with our guide provider, so we will add the NT listing as something that also needs to be updated.

There is a FN TV guide as published here.
(TourismTV EPG is not available on the broadcast stream but up until recently was posted on their web site)

Further update for my issue TBA.

Thanks. I can confirm the main network channels now have listings (49 of 56, up from 37). I checked them against the broadcast at 6:00 PM Darwin time today, and they match apart from two:

24 ABC NEWS is still 1.5 hours late. 7.30 (a current affairs program) is broadcast at 6:00 PM but the guide shows it at 7:30 PM.
74 7mate is also 1.5 hours late. The guide shows Highway Patrol at 6:00 and 6:30 PM, but those episodes air at 7:30 and 8:00 PM. The broadcast at 6:00 PM is American Pickers (from 5:34 PM), then Pawn Stars (from 6:33 PM).

Could you please add 7mate to the ticket as well?

Understood about First Nations TV, Tourism TV and Business TV.
Thanks for adding NT to the ticket.

I think the issue is that our guide provider does not have a dedicated listing for 7mate for Darwin, and Darwin runs on the same schedule as other capitals, while regional NT receives the same feed as remote/central QLD. Regional NT gets a show that is on at 8:00 in QLD at 7:30 NT time (so same real time, but different clock time due to the different timezones), while Darwin gets a show that is on at 8:00 in QLD at 8:00 NT time (same clock time, different real time). Because of the way the names are internally, it looks like Darwin was mistakenly set to the listing for remote/central NSW instead of QLD, which explains the schedule being 90 minutes off instead of 30. We'll get a request in to have a 7mate Darwin listing created.
