Ive tried using the Hisense TV with HD Homerun App, Apple TV 4K with HD Homerun App and the Macbook Air with HD Homerun App and they all do the same thing.
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the apps. Ive power cycled the Flex 4K.
No matter what I do the stream freezes and then the screen goes black. I can go back to the guide, click on the show and it restarts. But it freezes like 4-6x an hour.
What can I do to fix this?
Thanks for any help.
Freeze > Blank Screen?
Re: Freeze > Blank Screen?
Each app you test, enable "send diagnostic information" in the settings menu of the app - that way we can look up what is going on by Device ID. Be sure to post the Device ID of your HDHomeRun.
Do you have a USB flash drive plugged into the HDHomeRun? From the symptom I am wondering if you might be using a flash drive that is too slow to keep up with TV.

When looking up the device Id I did notice that the storage is at 99.9%. Is it possible this is causing the hiccups?
This a 1TB SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive 400 (Model Number SDCZ430-1T00-G46). I cant find the write speeds, that might be bad.

Re: Freeze > Blank Screen?
The lack of free space looks to be the problem...
"wasync write failed (20 of 7708 at 303493100)"
The HDHomeRun isn't handling the failure as gracefully as it should - I will talk with my team about that.
But yes, deleting some recordings to free up some space (or upgrading to a larger drive) should solve the issue.

Re: Freeze > Blank Screen?
Deleting 100s of morning and evening news shows manually one by one is the opposite of fun.
Is there a bulk delete somewhere?
Would it be possible to request a retention button when setting up a recording? When it asks for season, start time, end time maybe jsut add one more for retention?
- Keep Forever
- Keep 1 Month
- Keep 1 Week
Im only using a 1TB that I had laying around but no ones storage is getting less expensive so having a retention policy means we arent storing pointless stuff forever.

Re: Freeze > Blank Screen?
Or delete the oldest first when more space is needed. That is how TiVo works https://tivoidp.tivo.com/tivoCommunityS ... uage=en_US, with colored status icons. Recovery of deleted shows would be great too.theridge wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2026 6:37 pm Would it be possible to request a retention button when setting up a recording? Re: Freeze > Blank Screen?
An auto-delete mode for "keep X episodes" is currently being worked on, and a bulk deletion option of some kind is also planned.
