NedS there is issueds with HDHOMErun again with myhdhomerun_sync: webclient error (early close)

all tuners are being hit, like it was back twice back last year twice.

I searched and others having same issue.

This is really bad we need to be independent on this, what if the services were to be terminated for good, then our hardware would be completely invalid to use.

We should be able to LAN control our own devices without being dependent on a service running from you guys.

My HDHOMERUN DVR cannot be accessible via channels I can see it via discovery, status, urls etc. but the hdhomerun_record cannot do anything because of the dns/503 issues trying to reach silicondust servers.

The hardware is independent, but anything that needs the guide data from our servers (our branded app and our branded DVR) will have issues without that data. The HDHomeRun hardware itself will still work with other software, including anything that supports HTTP streaming or DLNA/UPnP (no special support for the HDHomeRun required. For example, VLC Media Player).

We could disappear tomorrow and all HDHomeRun units would still have options, including those that are free and open source.

That being said, we are looking into why some people are having guide server issues right now, and we hope to have that resolved ASAP. We will also look at this and see if we can have a better fall-back mode, like we do with offline mode.

No guide data on any devices, but I still have live tv on roku.

I run my HDHOMERUN Flex 4k using JellyFin and Schedule Direct for the EPG. The HDHr hardware does not need any connection to SiliconDust. I also have the option to use the free 2 day EPG from SiliconDust with my JellyFin and it also works fine using a JellyFin plug in.

I also use Media Player Classic -HC on a windows machine that works fine without the need to contact SiliconDust. There are many options and they all seem to work with just the HDHR hardware.

You need to check up on that for at least windows because I could connect to the unit it self and play the streams, that is true.

BUT running it via the windows hdhomerun_record.exe file that gather all units into one solution with 1 ip that shares the turners did not work, and after the timestamp was changed and it got connected again it worked as the outcome below



Can this be solved so its NOT dependent, the guide we can live without but the streams not working via the DVR mechanism it self is just meh.
