Maximum input power from antenna/amp

Hi just bough a televes smartkom device, the default output is set to 25 dbmV.
Can this value overload the input of the hdhomerun flex 4K unit?
What should be the ideal value to set?

I have a SmartKom as well. I doubt if anyone can tell you the one ideal value to set it to. The SmartKom has an overall level (which I think is what you are referring to), but also has +/-3dB adjustments for each channel. In my opinion, your starting point should be to try to get the signal strength for each available channel (measured from the HDHomeRun) to be as close as possible, but not exceeding, 99 signal strength. That will probably require a lot of trial and error. Since 100 is the maximum signal strength that the HDHomeRun will display for a given channel, I would shoot for something slightly less (hence the 99). Once it hits 100, it's difficult to tell if it just barely hit 100, or if the actual signal strength is way above 100.

Once you get thru the initial adjustments, you can then tweak and fine-tune if you need to.

I sure wish Televes would provide a guide for optimizing the various SmartKom settings. I actually have three antennas connected to my SmartKom, setup becomes even trickier because you can select which antenna to use for each channel.

+25 dBmV will likely overload if you have a lot of channels. Try to get to around 0dBmV at the input to the HDHomeRun, so just work back from there to account for splitters, long cable runs, etc..

I worked a lot on the trial yesterday, I started at 0 to work my way up to 99% on my weakest channel. Since I pickup from 2 towers one is 80 miles away and the other 9, the global setting was set to 6DbmV, and I adjust those weak channels with +3 and all the local at -3. That work fantastic.
