Missing Disable Live TV Slice Guide Option on 2nd Gen Apple TV 4k

I never noticed this before because I primarily use HDHomeRun via Plex, but after setting up a HomeAssistant automation I noticed that I could go into HDHomeRun's settings to disable the Live TV Slice Guide and the Grid Guide would be the default which shows a preview on the top right corner of what is on the highlighted TV channel. I actually prefer this over the slice guide on my Apple TV 4k 3rd Gen WiFi A2737 MN873LL/A. However, when I went to make the same change on my Apple TV 4k 2nd Gen WiFi + Ethernet A2169 MXH02LL/A the option to turn OFF the Live TV Slice Guide is missing completely. I noticed the Gen 3's HDHomeRun app was on version 20260822 and the Gen 2's HDHomeRun app was on version 20260817 so I figured it was a new feature. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling, which only lead me to installing a cached older version 20260324, but after reinstalling it I was able to get version 20260817 back. Searching forums and troubleshooting with Ai, I realized this is not a new feature, but some sort of bug with my 2nd Gen Apple TV 4k. Are there any conditions required for this option to appear? Is anyone else having this issue? I plan on contacting support, but I also couldn't find much on this issue online so I figured I'd post it myself. Hopefully someone from HDHomeRun reaches out to me here to show how to resolve this issue.

The Apple TV app should auto-update from the Apple app store. The current/latest release is 20260817 (you can see the version in the settings menu of the HDHomeRun app).

The UI and navigation within the UI has been significantly upgraded over the last 2 years. Guide is now a page in the top level menu.

When watching Live TV press up or down to bring up the slice guide to select a new channel, or press back to return to the Grid guide to select a new channel.

Hi there! Thanks so much for the quick response. I updated the app as I mentioned, but it only goes up to 20260817, when viewing live channels there is no grid guide button like in my 3rd gen, but I can click back to get to the guide. However, you can't view the live preview shown in the top right corner like on my 3rd gen. It's just black.

Additionally the button as shown in the settings menu as in my 3rd Gen Apple TV 4k to turn OFF slice guide is completely missing. My goal is to use the grid guide only and have a live view on the top right corner as shown on my 3rd Gen Apple TV.

I should probably also mention that the 3rd gen shows a blue background while the second gen shows a black background. Also, 2nd gen is on tvOS 26 while the 3rd gen is on tvOS 18

20260817 is the latest version. If you have a guide button on the OSD bar on your 3rd gen Apple TV then it must be running an old version of the HDHomeRun app. The guide button was replaced by the "press back" approach some time ago (1 button press to get to the guide).

Live preview in the top-right of the screen is not sometime our apps do.
