I want to setup a home OTA recording system. HomeRun looks easy and capable. My home has some wiring challenges. The router is on one end of the house, the TV and antenna at the other end. I have decent wifi through out the house via a 2.5G mesh. I want to know:
1) can I skip the router. Plug the Homerun into a PC next to the TV and run through Jellyfin?
2) Can homerun plug into a wifi mesh node with an ethernet port.
3) Can I use a Ethernet to Wifi dongle to connect to the mesh?
Thanks ahead of time.

Re: Prepurchase questions
If you're using a program like Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin, only the server needs access to the HDHomeRun, as all client access is through the server and not directly to the HDHomeRun. The last time i tried Jellyfin, the live TV support was a long way behind the regular media usage, but maybe things have improved since then.
You can connect the HDHomeRun to a mesh node. If you are using the HDHomeRun DVR, we would recommend that the DVR be either the HDHomeRun FLEX device itself or something that is also wired to that node in order to prevent video streaming from having to cross the wifi multiple times. Going from the HDHomeRun to the viewing client: probably fine. Going from the HDHomeRun over wifi to the DVR and then from the DVR over wifi to the viewing client: maybe less OK.
An ethernet to wifi bridge can work on a non-mesh network, but with an existing mesh network you'd be better off connecting to a mesh node to eliminate that extra hop over wifi.
