Flex 4K detected channel count went from 45 to 28

Post by leerandall »

I don't know how long this has been going on with my Flex 4K, but after reading a few other threads here of people losing channels, I figured I'd check mine. My channel count went from 45 to 28 that I'm able to receive now. All of the lost channels happen to be ATSC 1.0 channels, so I don't know if there is an effort in the Detroit area to shut off ATSC 1.0 channels, or if my Flex is going/gone bad.

My device ID is 10A46BAB, I've turned on diagnostics, and I tried to run a new channel scan, but it's been hung up at "Found 19 programs (76%)" for the last 10 minutes or so. Please advise.

ETA: I just refreshed the Channel Lineup page and reran the scan. This time it finished, but only detected the 28 channels it had detected earlier today, not the 45 I used to get.

The logs show a very high noise floor across all frequencies, and the TV channels aren't showing all that much additional signal above them. Did anything change with your antenna or amplifier? I remember you had poor signal before because the antenna was in an energy-efficient window that was blocking the signal, but I don't remember what the signal looked like after you moved it out from behind the window.

OK. I've been moving things around here. I'm in the process of transitioning from Spectrum cable (bye bye, cablecards) to fiber/Youtube TV, and the Flex 4K antenna must have moved just enough to throw things off. I'll work on that. Thanks for checking.
