Where did my HDHR devices go?

Post by dhfessler »

Up until sometime pre-dawn yesterday morning my three HDHR devices (HDHR3-US, HDHR4-2 US & Flex 4K) were visible and usable on my Macs using EyeTV 3 & 4. Sometimes the HDHR3&4s would also show up in the HDHR app. Since then the only one of them that shows up is the Flex 4K. The other two are still on with their left light steady green, but the other two lights briefly flash green then turn off. What could have caused this and what can I do to get them working again?

Thanks.

It is normal for the tuner LEDs to be off when you are not actively streaming something from the corresponding tuner. Are you seeing them blink only when you first plug in the HDHomeRun or is it happening on its own repeatedly? If it's happening on its own repeatedly, it would most likely indicate problems with the power supplies.

The tuner LEDs only blink when the HDHR devices are powered on - the power LEDs ar4e steady green..

Only the Flex shows up when using the EyeTV app, neither of the HDHR devices how up in the EyeTV app any more - they and the Flex did two days ago. Only the Flex shows up in the HDHomerun app, previously on occasion one of the HDHR devices would appear there.

What are the "Device ID"s printed on the bottom of those HDHomeRun units?

Try another compatible power supply with the 3 or 4 if you have one, it would need to be exactly 5V and at least 1A. More A is OK, more V is not.
