Bringing in weak/distant signals

Post by saul »

I have a Connect 4K now and have a station that doesn't come in with Signal Strength showing around 50% in the Config GUI. Adding a pre-amp takes it to over 65% but I still see 0% Signal Quality and 0% Symbol Quality. Connecting my attic antenna directly to my TV or to a dedicated ATSC tuner lets me view it but with pixelation and dropouts.

Primary question: Is the hardware the same between the Flex 4k and older Connect 4K as far as the tuners go?

Secondary question: Since I don't use the ATSC 3.0 channels would it be beneficial to drop down in hardware? How do the Flex Duo and Flex Quatro compare for pulling in weak signals?

The RF path/design is the same between the CONENCT 4K, FLEX DUO, FLEX QUATRO, and FLEX 4K.

The best thing to do is improve the antenna and antenna placement... moving from the attic to the roof will be a big win.
