Checked my devices today and found a HDHomeRun Record on one of my external hard drives. Have no idea how it got there.
My DVR should only reside on my Synology NAS.
I added a coupe of External hard drives to a mini Windows 11 PC a few days ago...... How did the HDHomeRun hijack that drive and how do I get rid of it???
Thanks.
Here is a photo. I don't want it on the 24TB drive......... Perhaps there is a ghost residing in my house??

Re: DVR Server added by it'self.
The HDHomeRun Record engine is off by default on Windows and, even if enabled, defaults to C:\Users\Public\Recorded TV\HDHomeRun unless you change it.
Run HDHomeRun Setup (if installed), go to the DVR tab, and make sure "Store recordings on this PC" is not checked.
Or you can check the record engines in the HDHomeRun app - go into Settings, Devices.
My guess is that you connected a drive that you had used previously for something HDHomeRun related.

Re: DVR Server added by it'self.
Thank you, that was the issue. I took that mini PC out of retirement to use as a file server for a couple of powered external hard drives. Apparently, I had used that mini PC as my recorder a long time ago. All of the HDHomeRun apps were still on the desktop. When I opened the setup app, it had "store recordings on this PC" check marked. I unchecked it and now everything is back to normal............. I had/have a habit of using different devices as my recording engine.
Thank you for the quick response, as usual....
