No Souns When Playing Back On A PC

Post by Scotty StarFire »

I wonder if this is a issue that has been brought up before & I just can't it or it's new.

When I transfer a movie from my storage unit to my PC, it plays, but there is no sound. There is a BRIEF Note that the Codex is not a match or something. Is this something that can be corrected with a simple fix? Or it is it a dead wall. I wanted to download some show for a long flight & a area that get no TV service.

Any help would be welcomes

What player are you trying to use? What is the source of the content (country/channel). Typically vlc works well except for content with ac4 audio.

ATSC 3 introduced the need for AC4 audio which most devices won't have. AC3 audio can also be an issue for some. Many devices these days dont come with mpeg2 or hevc decoding for video (hevc has recently been dropped being included with windows, older installs should have it. Many times updating video drivers from manufacturer may bring such in).

Some playing programs don't like the TS having a .mpg extension. In such case just changing the .mpg to .ts often works though most times I have seen such warning still allow playing.

I will give changing the file from "mpg" to "ts". Who knows, it could work. Back in the Bit Torrent days, there was a program to help with this problem. I will have a look to see if I saved it somewhere. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

If it is an ATSC 3.0 broadcast, clsid2's version of MPC-HC added support for AC-4 last year.
