That works. What does the signal quality look like with only PLP 1 checked?

Which direction are you from the tower, which is at 8 Mile and Meyers Road in Oak Park?

I am roughly at 9 Mile and Haggerty in Novi.

Interesting. What do your signal numbers look like on WTVS (20) and WWJ (21)? Do you get WUDL on 35/virtual 19 at all? The 3.0 broadcast does require a couple dB more SNR than a 1.0 broadcast would with those modulation settings, but it really shouldn't matter that much less than 15 miles from the tower, especially to the west where the signal is strongest. The differences in it coming and going could be them switching between the primary antenna on top of the tower and the backup lower down, but I still wouldn't expect it to be difficult to receive at that distance.

OK, so you just have terrible reception in general. What kind of antenna are you using?

I've tried a bunch of indoor antennas, with and without amplifiers, and this is what I settled on.

Is the antenna installed vertically with the cable coming out the bottom and oriented so that the RCA logo is facing either directly towards the towers or directly in the opposite direction?

Is the antenna installed towards the eastern side of your house? What kind of material is the outer wall?

Yes, it's vertically mounted with the cable coming out the bottom. The logo is pointed directly towards the towers. It is actually mounted high in a second floor bedroom on the south side of the house, facing at an angle through the window towards the towers in the east-southeast. The outer wall is 2x4 framing and drywall. The windows are of vinyl construction.

Fancy new energy-efficient windows by chance? Or with tint or a metal bug screen?

Yes, energy efficient, but with, I believe, fiberglass screen.

The nano metal particles in Low-E glass can act as a barrier, causing poor reception for indoor antennas placed behind these windows.

As a "test", have you tried moving the antenna away from the window and going through the wall, or even outside the window? Bring up the signal monitoring app while moving the antenna around to see if you can find a sweet spot.

I mounted outdoor antennas in my attic and pull in over 100 channels with high quality at ~25 miles from the towers with mild 2-Edge blockage.

Amazing. I moved the antenna about 1 foot to the right and aimed it so that it wasn't pointed through the window, and I now have solid reception for the Olympics Closing Ceremony. Thanks for the tip, Pungo. Much appreciated.
