ATSC 3.0 ABQ NM

Post by gordoabc »

I just purchased an HDHomeRun FLEX 4K and the ABQ ATSC 3 channels aren't working even the ones without DRM. Firmware update of 20250815. I have run scan a couple of times and deactivated the two DRM channels. With the Mac app I get no video error on PBS 105.1 and other channels just crash the app. With the AppleTV app two of the channels that crash the Mac app work (119.1 and 150.1). The others just show black screen no sound. All I care about is PBS which is DRM free.

Here is system log ofr tuning first to PBS then to a channel that crashes the Mac app but work on Apple TV:

20260117-19:21:46 Tuner: tuner0 tuning 105.1 KNME-HD (atsc3:183MHz-5001)
20260117-19:21:56 HTTP: rejecting request from 192.168.86.125 - no video data
20260117-19:21:56 Tuner: tuner0 http stream ended (requested time reached)
20260117-19:22:34 Tuner: tuner0 tuning 150.1 KASY TV (atsc3:605MHz-2042)
20260117-19:22:38 Tuner: tuner0 streaming http to 192.168.86.125:49321
20260117-19:22:39 Tuner: tuner0 http stream ended (remote closed)

For the crash, please make sure you have the latest app version installed from the App Store, not from the installer on our website, as the web version is behind due to some changes we are working through related to building and packaging things under Tahoe.

For the PBS issue, we would like to get some diagnostic data to see what is happening:
  1. In a web browser go to http://hdhomerun.local
NOTE: That address will go do the first HDHomeRun device found on your network. If you have more than one HDHomeRun device, use the "device ID" printed on the bottom of the unit instead of "hdhomerun" in the address. For example, if your device ID was 104FFFFF then you would go to http://104fffff.local
  2. If it tells you that a firmware update is available, please install it
  3. Click "System Menu"
  4. Check the "Send diagnostic information" box (if this box is already checked, please un-check then re-check it)
  5. Go back one page
  6. Click "Channel Lineup"
  7. Click on "Detect Channels"
Reply back and provide us the device ID of your HDHomeRun and we will check the logs. You can find the device ID on a label on the bottom of the HDHomeRun itself.

Device ID:

10AD9BB4

I updated to the App Store App which fixed the crash. PBS 105.1 seems to work intermittently along with the 105.2 sub channel. Other sub channels give the no video error.

Did something change with your antenna today? The signal on that channel was very poor previously, but today it looked significantly better than it had been.

I removed an attenuator that I had previously used with my older ATSC 1 hdhomerun.

Are you still seeing problems with tuning?
