30 second skip freezes

This is a weird one. Running 20260105c (UI) (beta) on iOS 18.7.2
I watch a pre-recorded show and come to a commercial so I use the 30second skip and the image freezes. I quit HDHR and start again. It picks up pretty much where it left off and 30second skip now works. This happened regularly, so I decided to wait out the skip and sure enough it un-freezes after 30 seconds and the skip function works fine and I resume watching my program until I get to a commercial and … yup, all over again.
Like I said… weird.

Which platform? Mac OS, Windows, Android/Google/Fire, iOS, Roku, etc?

Like I said iOS 18.7.2 (on an iPad). I got notice of 18.7.3. We'll see...
