I have the HD Homerun 4k receiver running the App on firestick in a couple year old Samsung TV
I have it dvr'ing to a windows pc with a dedicated dvr drive. Most of the time it's fine. It selects and starts programs quickly. The pause/forward/backward perform fine, usually.
However, on playback, I'll hit fast forward to skip over ads. Sometimes, after 3 - 4 presses, the firestick 'loses it" and appears to restart. A Samsung Tizen boot screen can come up. Sometimes it goes right back to the HDHR program and continues, other times to the tv or firestick Home Screen. If I relaunch the app and program it goes back to where it was.
I can do the same recreate on my ipad and hold the forward/backward button down for many seconds and release and it lands and plays where it should.
I just did a recreate with 'send diagnostic info' on:
Device ID: 10AD6FA6
Low priority and can work around it, more FYI
Firestick 4k DVR Playback Problem
Re: Firestick 4k DVR Playback Problem
How are you powering the Fire TV stick? Is it plugged into the power supply that it came with, or is it using a USB port on the TV, etc?
Re: Firestick 4k DVR Playback Problem
Thanks. I have a through-the- wall cable run up there with power to a power strip, so it got plugged in to AC power.NedS wrote: Thu Nov 27, 2025 3:01 am How are you powering the Fire TV stick? Is it plugged into the power supply that it came with, or is it using a USB port on the TV, etc?
Re: Firestick 4k DVR Playback Problem
If you're seeing a Tizen boot screen, that means the TV is crashing, not the Fire Stick. I got no explanation for why a TV would crash because of something coming in over the HDMI port, you'll have to call Korea and ask them
.
Re: Firestick 4k DVR Playback Problem
Yeh not surprised at that answer.
It is a really specific recreate so I thought I'd ask. I have to be less spastic on the FF button presses.
Thanks for reviewing. I am liking the device and software a lot
