I am using HDHR from Apple TV. When I pause a show, and try to resume it past a few minutes, it does not resume from where it was paused. Instead, it resumes for a few seconds from where it left off, then it pixelates, and skips to the current time. The resume feature is basically not available for a live show.
On the other hand, I've tested this on HDHR on iPhone and it works flawlessly.
Are others having the same issue? Is this a known issue or bug? Are there any plans to fix it?
Apple TV: Resume from Pause not working
Re: Apple TV: Resume from Pause not working
Do you have an HDHomeRun DVR running on the network?
Re: Apple TV: Resume from Pause not working
Yes, it’s on the network. I don’t think I’d be able to watch TV if it wasn’t on the network, right? I’m still new to this so I don’t know it’s there’s a config that allows you to use this without being network connected.

Do you have a USB hard drive connected to your FLEX?
Re: Apple TV: Resume from Pause not working
Yes, and actively recording shows daily.
Re: Apple TV: Resume from Pause not working
I'm seeing an issue here with it as well. I have reported it to our Apple TV team to investigate.

Thx Jason!
Re: Apple TV: Resume from Pause not working
Hi @jasonl, do you have an update on this issue? I still see the resume from pause not working as I would expect it to. There is a very short window where it will work, but once you cross say 5 minutes, it skips forward shortly after resuming. My feeling is that it is only using internal memory to cache the running show, and when it hits the max, it skips forward possibly all the way to the point of the live stream. Instead, I would expect it to use the attached USB hard drive in addition to the internal memory to buffer potentially hours of live TV. I'm curious what the team has found, and if there's a timeline for fixing it. Thanks!
Re: Apple TV: Resume from Pause not working
I think it got fixed internally, but didn't get released because we are working on a fix for the video hiccups that happen for the first minute or two after changing channels.
