Roku Ultra unable to run HDHomerun - tjp
Re: Roku Ultra unable to run HDHomerun - tjp
Found and fixed internally... if everything else passes QA today we will submit the new release tomorrow.

Thanks. Fingers crossed that this one does the trick.

Same problem here.
Re: Roku Ultra unable to run HDHomerun - tjp
I installed the new update (103 build 20250718) on both my "Roku Ultra" and "Roku Streaming Stick Plus 2025". This update fixed the problem on the Roku Ultra, but created a new bug with the "Roku Streaming Stick Plus 2025".
On the Streaming Stick I get the splash screen and then the channel guide. No matter what channel I choose I get a black screen with the error "Roku Player Error: Unsupported Video Format".
I have tried un-installing the HDHomerun app and re-installing. I have plugged the Roku Streaming Stick into 2 different TV's (both 1080P panels). But no luck. I get the same error no matter what I try.

if your television set is set to 1080p setting the roku player to 720p would be the way to go since the tv would upconvert the picture resolution to 1080p.tjp wrote: Mon Jul 21, 2025 6:54 pm I installed the new update (103 build 20250718) on both my "Roku Ultra" and "Roku Streaming Stick Plus 2025". Tried changing the display type from 1080 to 720 - no luck. Still the same error.
This player error is new and coincided with the latest update, so it has to be a bug with the HDHomerun app for the Roku Streaming Stick 2025 model.
(I've now tried this Roku stick on 3 different TV/monitors and I always get the unsupported player error)
I also have a Plex server - I recently discovered that if I access my SD Flex 4 tuner via Plex instead of the HDHomerun app I can view and play all the channels without any issues on this same Roku Streaming Stick. So again, it has to be an issue with the HDHomerun app itself.

Everything is playing fine on my 3810X Roku Streaming Stick+
Can you please check the exact model of Roku by going into Settings, System, About from the Roku home screen.

Nick - I've decided to "throw in the towel" with this particular Roku Streaming Stick. I replaced it with a Roku Soundbar. The HDHomerun app runs fine on the soundbar and the soundbar model actually works out better for me anyway.
I don't know if you have had any other customers having problems with this particular model, but mine is now sitting in my junk drawer
