Good morning.
Our Connect Quatro stopped working through PLEX. It works through the HDhomerun app, but not showing in the connected devices on the router. Network LED is solid green. Now, every now and then I get a screen when I start the app, that says something about error 227 (or 277) I think. You click OK, and it keeps going to the channels. Yesterday, every time I started the app it would play for about 3 seconds and terminate back to the apps screen in Plex. This morning it is playing solid through the app (two hours so far), but again, not through Plex (Live TV & DVR). Still not showing in the devices on the router so no way to know what IP it is using.
Do I need to get a new one? This one is about 5 years old.

Are you able to access the tuner from hdhomerun.local in a browser? If so, the System Menu will show its IP address. You can also use its device id to access it. For example, your device ID is 1000abcd, you can access it at 1000abcd.local.

WOW! Sure can 
And THANKS Good to know. But, still can't see that IP in the router device list. It did ask me to install and reboot (an update), but that didn't help.
Any other ideas?

It makes no sense.
I went into plex again, it couldn't find the quatro. I went to "Manual" way and entered the IP address, it saw it, and started building the guide. I can use the "Live TV and DVR" in plex now though, but still not in the device list.
Like I said, it makes no sense LOL
But thank again. The wife is happy now.

Plex can get confused if, for example, the tuner's IP address has changed. When it performs its discover it sees the same device but at the new address. For whatever reason it seems to disregard what it considers to be a duplicate. That's my experience at least.
Depending on your router's capabilities you may be able to set up a DHCP reservation for the tuner to ensure it always gets offered the same IP address. Hopefully that will prevent future issues of this kind,
