Scribe Quatro does not find any channels

Post by craigwillie »

Scribe Quatro 15204D0F
Prime 1319E6F2
Send diagnostic information ON

Just moved. Same cable provider. Digital cable. Both devices worked fine until the move.

Now the Scribe Quatro does not find any channels during a channel scan.

Prime (no cablecard) scan finds all the channels fine.

- Swapped the coax between the devices, Quatro still does not find any channels
- Power cycled Quatro still no channels.

What are the next troubleshooting steps?

Did you try scanning from the web UI (assuming you tried from the app?) and make sure that "Cable TV" was selected from the drop-down menu? http://15204D0F.local

Originally scanned from the app on Android TV.

Tried scanning from my phone which is on the same wifi as the Android TV with the web link and it says the site cannot be found.

If I scan from the App on my phone, it does not find the Prime or Quatro at all but does see the Servio.

Make sure you are connecting from the correct subnet. My suggestion would be from a PC rather than phone. I also personally always perform the scan directly on the device's web page... that link should have worked assuming that is your Scribe's DeviceID but some don't have mdns available on their network so I would suggest using the ip of the device (you should be able to find the devices listed at https://ipv6-api.hdhomerun.com/discover (or ipv4- if you don't have ipv6 capable internet) assuming your devices connect to internet from the same public ip as the device you are using the browser on. Make sure you aren't using vpn, particularly on phone, too often I have seen android on vpn discover the device by broadcast but all unicast requests to device would go out vpn if discovered by ipv6, more behave better with ipv4 but the app will use ipv6 if it discovers it that way.

Thanks for the info and help.

I was able to access the Quatro via IP and it detected the channels doing a scan that way.
