crash on choosing recording on appletv

we've been using this homer quatro with an Apple TV for a couple of years no.

Suddenly tonight, it crashes back to the OS on selecting a program from the recording screen.

We've force quit the program, and restarted the appetv, and it continues.

However, I can successfully watch recorded programs on my laptop.

Apple TV and apps are up to date, at least as of at least a couple of weeks ago.

Same symptoms here, just started today June 6, 2025; also notice it will not save my settings (for example, I strongly dislike the Slice guide, always turn that off, but everytime I start the DVR on my AppleTV, the Slice guide is back.) I have power-off rebooted DVR, I have power-off rebooted the AppleTV. I have removed and reinstalled the HD HomeRun app on the AppleTV. HD HomeRun app on AppleTV is showing "Version 20250604 (App) / 20250604 (UI)". AppleTV is on tvOS 18.5 [22L572] which it reports is the current available version. I saw in these forums where FireTV Sticks which were crashing are getting a 20250606 update, maybe there will be a similar AppleTV update in the next day or two; it always takes time to get an update through Apple's review process.

An internal-only test build of our HDHomeRun app for Apple TV is being pushed to everyone as an auto-update. Apple does not have a way to stop this. This unintended release includes much of the new episode view but is otherwise broken for playing back recordings.

A new release has been submitted to Apple.

Our HD HomeRun just started to crash on trying to un a recording using the Apple TV app. It reverts back to the app. Using the app directly on the Sony TV it will play a recording. Is there a fix for the Apple TV?

I got the 20250607 update and now I can play recordings but the ability to save settings is still broken… when I go to settings I can turn off Slice Guide and pick Stereo Speakers, but when I go to Live the slice guide is still there and when I go back to settings Slice is On and Speakers are Undefined. Speakers are just a symptom, not a big deal… not being able to turn off Slice is a big deal… I really dislike it.

I installed the new one last night, and tried it today.

Now, when you select a program from recordings, it goes to a grey screen an stays.

20260611 Seems to be working correctly to me!
