Firmware 20250506
There is no mention of fw version 20250506 in the changelog or on Bluesky. After some poking around on the forum I found out it's the same as 20250505beta1 but the changelog only mentions changes for ATSC 3.0 devices. What does this do for my HDHR3-CC and HDHR4-2US devices?

Re: Firmware 20250506
What version were they on... I believe there were some January betas that helped with mdns and upnp announcements to only go out of primary ipv4 and ipv6 addresses (typically no longer the link local addresses). Other than that there probably isn't much for those devices (other than making sure they are on latest for app not to complain).
One thing I found odd was I had installed software package and setup didn't upgrade servio, nor even detect it, and still doesn't though everything is on the same switch and subnet... hdhomerun app on same pc has no issue detecting it. Though I understand not including it on Tuner page since it had no tuners, but if it isn't there, it probably should show up on dvr tab and/or also update firmware when it does the other devices automatically at start.

Re: Firmware 20250506
I currently have fw version 20230713.
Re: Anyone else see signal improvement after 20250506
I loaded the firmware 20250506 on my HDHR5-4US (ATS 1.0 Quatro) and rescanned my channels on my Nvidia Shield. The new channel scan seemed to include a signal strength indicator on the right. I don't know if its due to changes in the Milw and Chicago broadcast signal or the new firmware but suddenly my channel reception has improved.

Good to know, thanks.Kraig wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 7:00 am The new channel scan seemed to include a signal strength indicator on the right. I don't know if its due to changes in the Milw and Chicago broadcast signal or the new firmware but suddenly my channel reception has improved.
I'm holding on 20230713 until I hear from Silicondust what this firmware does for the older 3-CC and 4th gen models. I mostly use third party software with my tuners and I don't want to bork a perfectly running system for an unnecessary firmware update. Still no mention of this firmware in the changelog or on Bluesky.

20250506 isn't just the changes from 20250505beta1, it also has the changes in every beta that came out after 20230713 for the HDHR4/HDTC, 20231020 for HDHR5 and newer, and 20231214 for the HDD/FLEX models:
HDHomeRun Firmware (20250117beta1):
* ATSC3: Fix problem handling 4K test broadcast from Canada.
* ATSC3: Fix problem where incorrect parental rating could be applied.
* TECH5/DEV: Fix problem with ATSC3 "forward" output format where power-save mode could activate stopping operation.
* TECH5: Auto-restart demodulation when needed on older ATSC1-only models.
* HDD models: Improve handling of a failing hard drive.
* UPnP: Only announce services using the primary IPv4 and primary IPv6 address.
* MDNS: Improvements to MDNS handling.
HDHomeRun Firmware 20250130beta1
* Add signal strength/quality to the channel scan results
HDHomeRun Firmware - 20250505beta1
* Adds support for ATSC 3.0 content that identifies as Dolby Vision.
* Fixes problem where ATSC 3.0 channels found on one physical channel may sometimes false-detect on the next physical channel. Problem most notably affected Las Vegas.

Re: Firmware 20250506
Thanks. I feel like I'm getting closer to finding out what 20250506 does for HDHR3-CC and HDHR4-2US models. So I think it's just the UPnP change and signal strength on the device webpage? Some kind of official announcement sure would clear up the confusion.kyl416 wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 9:53 am 20250506 isn't just the changes from 20250505beta1, it also has the changes in every beta that came out after 20230713 for the HDHR4/HDTC, 20231020 for HDHR5 and newer, and 20231214 for the HDD/FLEX models:

Re: Firmware 20250506
I, too, would like to see some Firmware release notes posted in the appropriate area of the web site when a new version is released. I'm running version 20231214 on my HDHomeRun FLEX 4K, and it's notifying me that Release 20250506 is ready to install...
I'm not a big fan of blindly installing software updates without some sort of acknowledgement on the vendor's web site that I should be expecting it. Call me overly cautious but it is what it is.
All this said, it's now 5/19/2025 and - if my math is right - the release has been out for 13 days. No acknowledgement of it on your release notes page. I am hoping something will show up there soonish. In the interim, my device is running fine so I'm going to defer any upgrades to it.

I'm not seeing signal strength/quality on the channel scan results on my HDHR3-CC after updating to 20250506
Is it supposed to look like this?

See this post. I know it applies to over-the-air reception. Not sure about CableCard.

Apparently not.
Using 20250515 (UI) on an iPhone.
Just tried turning on Early access to features and no change.

Re: Firmware 20250506
Did you run a new channel scan? Such is required for it to get the values (or at least it was when first came out)
