Here is my scenario. I love The Jack Benny Program and I have recorded and watched/deleted all the episodes so I am not able to do a "season pass". So what I do once a week (or whenever I remember) is go into Discover, search for Jack Benny. With the new UI, on the left side I see Season 15 all the way down to Season 2. I need to navigate into a season, select the episode(s) I want to record, press the back button, go into another season and repeat. With the old UI, all the upcoming shows (no matter what season) were listed in a row. I just select the episode(s) I want to record and that was it. If you ask me, this UI is many steps backwards. Please give us the option to put the old UI back.
Thanks
Don't like the new UI. Option to revert back to old UI?

A new "upcoming" view will be available along side the season selections that will show all upcoming episodes. They're working on adding it now.

We can also clear the deleted episode history on your account to allow the episodes to record again. Just make sure you use the Delete re-record option if you want to record again the next time it airs. Email support at silicondust dot com from the email address associated with your DVR account to request clearing of the deleted episode history.

Same issue here, the old “upcoming episodes” list was so much better. It’s good they’re adding that view back – kind of a lifesaver. Still, having an option to revert to the old UI would really help, especially for people who follow classic shows like Jack Benny.
I follow old shows too, so I totally get it. Clicking through season after season is a pain. If they added a sort-by-air-date filter, that’d be perfect. Credit where it’s due though – their support is pretty responsive

The new interface has been really jarring to me, especially interleaving "Coming Soon" entries with those already recorded. Is there a way to see a list of just the recorded episodes? "Coming Soon" doesn't seem to mesh with the "Recorded" tab it's part of. I'm not really sure of the benefit of the "Coming Soon" entries.
Is there a user guide or release notes for this new UI? I see the phrase "delete re-record" and I don't know what that means.

From what I can tell they seem to be trying to make one UI to eventually replace Discover and Recorded with one tab... I disagree with this as the audience is different for those tasks based on what you are looking for... discover is more for now (though I can see how one could argue wanting to play a recording is now) but mainly for the future (which one won't have recordings for yet but may wish to see shows marked as such). While recordings should only have to do with recordings (question is does upcoming belong here or under tasks like it was... and it seems they are working their way to having an upcoming button for a show to see such... however they seem to be planning on limiting such to so many shows as well as a recent to so many shows recently recorded and expect more from the seasons (but that doesn't work well for some shows).LHuisingh wrote: Mon Apr 07, 2025 10:23 am The new interface has been really jarring to me, especially interleaving "Coming Soon" entries with those already recorded. Delete and rerecord has always been an option... delete by itself will mark such in the cloud that you don't want to ever record it again and has been the default delete option. Re-record tells the cloud that if a rule is present to record that show to go ahead and record it again (note I believe on the old UI this was a bit more confusing as it also would delete not just rerecord... perhaps that should also be an option but the way the record engine works is that if it has the recording it doesn't record it again unless marked to and I don't think the back end is set up to keep track of such for future airings that aren't currently in guide to force record if one has it... typically this would be caused by a one-off recording rule or something the guide labels as "new" )

Thank you for making Recent the default.NedS wrote: Fri Apr 04, 2025 10:22 pm A new "upcoming" view will be available along side the season selections that will show all upcoming episodes. They're working on adding it now.
Re: Don't like the new UI. Option to revert back to old UI?
To clarify...
Non Season-Episode style shows default to Recent from Recorded and default to Upcoming from Discover.
Season-Episode style show default to the newest season.
Re: Don't like the new UI. Option to revert back to old UI?
I don't understand the reluctance to offer both. Make the new UI the default but then have an option to revert to the old.
