I just did that, using my local channel 12.3 (Movies!) and selected this:

I then did the > button and selected the option to choose the specific channel and time and got this:

Next, I choose to record it at 2 minutes early and 2 minutes later:

Then I went back to check on it, again hitting the > button and got this:

No option to delete this and it clearly has ignored my configuration of 2 minutes early and 2 minutes later.
There are two different types of recording rules - record a specific airing and series record. It has always worked this way.

Your first pictures show setting up to record a specific airing.

Your last picture shows you going into Record Series. There is no existing series recording rule so you see defaults ready for you to approve creating a series rule.

The old UI worked the exact same way, just labeled as Record This Airing and Record More. Setting up a Record This Airing didn't result in a Record More rule being created.

Edit - I ran a series of tests and it looks like you can't delete a specific airing recording rule. We will get this fixed.

Yes, that's what is happening.

This should have been caught in beta testing.

Press right. It will show you all airings. If live you can select the channel you want to watch now. If not live and you have DVR you can set up a rule (Series Record with a channel filter or you can simply select a specific airing to record)
It appears, when using a mouse, "Press Right" does not exist.

This is ridiculous. So now when I scroll over to”Discover”, I get a blue screen. That’s the screen I use 90% of the time. I’m a patient guy, but I’m getting fed up with this change.

I'm on Windows 10. Clicking on the right in now playing only launches the show. Right arrow using a remote shows the channel record list.

Channel Selection:

My default PBS channel is highest resolution but ultimately loses signal every episode. I have to use the alternate channel, 10.2 instead of 10.1. It's not an improvement to have multiple clicks to make it record on the other channels.

IMHO, and I am a software programmer, when designers make the application do things automatically instead of easy user control, it means that the programmer is either showing off or believing that users are to stupid to figure out their application. Just program it with an easier interface, not automatically making assumptions.
