Quatro listed twice showing (no filesystem)
Hi, I raised an issue about a year and a half ago (post expired) about my Quatro having a filesystem problem. I've pulled out the drive as instructed and I still get the (no filesystem) error. I also see that Quatro 1520267D Listed twice on the screen. The 151041BE SCRIBE is still working fine. Thoughts on how to repair this? Should I buy a new drive? If I plug the drive into a USB reader will it be readable? Thoughts?

If you install a working drive it should return to normal.

I see the drive is a Seagate Video 2.5 HDD Hard Drive - Internal 1TB. Part number 1RE172-500. Can I go bigger or swap to a SSD? Thoughts?
Also will I need to format this outside of the Quatro Scribbe?

Re: Quatro listed twice showing (no filesystem)
Any 2.5" SATA drive with 7mm height will fit. Video/surveillance rated drives are supposed to handle 24/7 usage, but color me unimpressed with the Seagates. SSDs are fine, but try to find something that uses TLC flash. Most of what's out there anymore is QLC and has abysmal write performance. The Corsair MX500 series was my old go-to recommendation, but sadly that entire line was discontinued a couple months ago. The Samsung 870 EVO is still around and probably the best SATA drive left. If you can't find something that explicitly lists TLC, at least try for a real name brand like SanDisk and avoid anything on Amazon that comes from a seller that lists their address in Chinese.

Thx... I got the EVO 1TB. So two last questions:
1. Will I need to format this in advance?
2. If I purchase the FLEX, from what I read any USB drive will work. Or do you have USB recommendations, as I'm thinking of getting a FLEX as an addition to my system.

Re: Quatro listed twice showing (no filesystem)
If the drive comes completely empty, the SCRIBE will automatically format it. If there is anything on it, it should have a Format button on the device's web page.
For the FLEX, generally, stick to name brands. We have seen issues with some 5TB portable (bus-powered) drives and would recommend a drive with its own power supply when you get to that capacity. For SSDs, the SanDisk Extreme have been problematic due to excessive power draw.
