Though I agree you posted in the correct spot, as it is an app issue, most likely you are referring to viewtopic.php?t=79485
If you aren't on the affected version of ios please state your version otherwise assume it's the same issue and you must let the app detect things on the lan and you may not have that option

iOS 18.1 is blocking local network communication. According to the documentation iOS is meant to pop up a message asking for permission like Mac does but it isn't.
We are trying to find a solution.

Having the same issue with a new install of the iOS app version 202410024 on iOS version 18.0.1. Haven't updated to iOS 18.1 yet.
Also, the app comes up in landscape orientation instead of portrait and my only two choices are Retry and Exit.
Retry just fails again.
Clicking Exit does nothing, have to kill the app.

Re: HDHomerun app on iPhone 15 Pro Max does not detect HDHomerun Prime (3)
App should be in landscape as that is the usual way a tv is oriented. Make sure you have the local network permission set, you actually connect to wifi that is in the same network (subnet) as the hdhomerun (nothing blocking such as firewall appliance or vlans, and that you are not using a vpn.
Since you mentioned prime, make sure it has a lineup and you have ipv4 connection to your lan via wifi.

The app never asked permission and the only permissions available for it are Access to
Siri
Search
Cellular Data
Yes wifi is same network and subnet and no vpn. I can view the HDHR Prime web UI from the iPhone using a browser.signcarver wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 6:07 pm you actually connect to wifi that is in the same network (subnet) as the hdhomerun (nothing blocking such as firewall appliance or vlans, and that you are not using a vpn.
It does
I do
I mentioned I'm having the same problem nickk mentioned one post above mine, but with iOS 18.0.1, not 18.1.

Looks like it was fixed.Billi23 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 4:47 pm Having the same issue with a new install of the iOS app version 202410024 on iOS version 18.0.1. Haven't updated to iOS 18.1 yet.

I uninstalled the iOS app version 202410024, updated to iOS 18.1, then downloaded the latest iOS app version 202411013.
It did ask for Local Network access permission and is now working.
The release notes in the app store says "Fix for network access on latest iPad OS 18" in version 20241113
