Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
I've had my Flex 4K set up for several years and haven't had a lick of trouble (I use Channels DVR, Plex and the HDHR app on Apple TV, iOS, iPadOS and on my M3 iMac).
Until today. I installed the HDHomeRun app update listed in the App Store (ver 20241025) and now I get the "No HDHomeRun tuners found" error on iPhone and iPad. I have iOS/iPadOS 18.1 running on both devices.
No trouble pulling up the local HDHR page at hdhomerun.local - no trouble using Channels or Plex with the tuner. I rescanned Antenna channels and power cycled the Flex 4K box, to no avail.
Also - the HD HomeRun app for MacOS (I'm running Sequoia 15.1) is still running great - it is version 20231214.
Flex 4K firmware is 20231214.
I would guess that there is something amiss in the latest 20241025 iOS/iPadOS app updates that won't permit the app to "find" devices on my local network.... unlike other iOS apps the HDHR app doesn't seem to have a setting for "Discover Devices on Local Network".
Anyone else experiencing this problem and have any suggestions?

On your Apple mobile devices, ensure that Settings -> Privacy and Security -> Local Network -> HDHomeRun is enabled (slider to the right). Also ensure that your client devices and the HDHomeRun tuner are on the same logical network.

Hey thanks for this!
Unfortunately the HD HomeRun app doesn’t appear at all under Settings - Privacy & Security - Local Network…
Also… I just deleted the iOS app, restarted my iPhone, reinstalled the app, started it up, and… still getting the same error. And no Local Network setting available.
I still think this indicates a problem with this latest app update.

That's strange, it works fine on my devices on 18.1. You may need to go ahead and enable "Send diagostic information" in the DVR settings of your device so SD can gather more information.
For what it's worth, I have no problems with my tuners on a Flex 4K with the most recent Apple updates.

I seem to be having the same issue. It was working earlier today and then now it isn’t with the same symptoms.alanh220 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 2:43 pm Hey thanks for this!

Re: Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
Seems to be something with iOS 18.1 and fresh installs of the HDHomeRun app. We are looking into it.
Re: Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
As of yesterday my HDHomerun is no longer detected by the app or by Plex (however Plex is now seeing it and live tv is working). My iOS and Macs are running the latest software updates. It is model HDhomerun 20251025. it is on the network as my network app shows it connected. I replaced both the ethernet and tv cable switched ports on both and still nothing (which was not surprising since Plex sees it after the computer, Mac mini, was restarted). When I restart the HDhomerun both right side green lights blink green and the left light remains a steady green. So it works with Plex but not with the HDhomerun app on either a Mac or iPhone running the latest system software.
Re: Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
On Mac, go into System Settings > Privacy and Security > Local Network and make sure the HDHomeRun app is enabled. We're seeing an issue where the prompt for this isn't coming up on iOS 18.1 and our engineering team is investigating.

Re: Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
My understanding with iOS you must get that dialog box before it will add it to the list of apps (i thought they had got rid of that for awhile but know such cropped up long ago... I think ios 13 or 14 on an app i had) to enable/disable local lan access... once you get that it should be smooth sailing.
For some reason new installs aren't getting that "pop up"... old installs with upgrade "should" work but if for some reason you don't see app listed to turn on, you will probably be in the same situation.. (usually these things would get fixed with uninstall/reinstall but that probably isn't advised right now since new installs have the issue)

Re: Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
Reporting the same thing. New iPhone 16 Pro Max. Upgraded to 18.1. Installed HDHomeRun app, and it does not show in the list of apps that have requested network access. It never asked me for network access, and I would think for this reason does not find my HDHomeRun FLEX 4K.
But HDHomeRUN continues to work fine on macOS, Apple TV, and webOS LG TV.

Same thing here . . . iOS 18 and HDHomerun App not working. I’m on a iPhone 16 Pro.
Re: Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
Pretty sure it’s an app issue, all other devices in my home like Android TV can access the tuner. I can access the web interface from Safari on my phone, too. Just the iOS app on iPhone is broken.
Re: Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
Same problem on my end, picked up a HDHR Flex 4K this past Friday. Has worked just fine on iOS 18.1 with Plex and Channels but no luck on official HDHomeRun app.
Re: Error: No HDHomeRun tuners found (iOS)
The HDHomeRun iOS app was updated in the App Store to version 20241113 and ... the local network access issue has been fixed! Thanks, SD developers!
Everything back to operation as normal, with Local Network Discovery once again functioning.
