Just started having this problem today.
Plex worked fine with HDHR5 yesterday (NFL Sunday) but tried using today with Plex app on an LG TV as well as via web and AppleTV - none worked. Plex Server (hosted on a QNAP) said the DVR device could not be found.
I updated the QNAP firmware today. Wondering if that broke something...
Tried to disconnect and reconnect HDHR5 but Plex won't see it. However, the HDHomeRun Mac app DOES see the tuner AND I can access the tuner via built-in web server, so seems like something on the Plex side.

My HDHomeRun EXTEND was also “not found” since last recording on a Mac server 09/23/24. I noticed an update awaiting on Plex and the tuner so upgraded both… with no resolution. http://hdhomerun.local reports all 10 tuner attributes as “none”. Don’t know if that is OK? The Log reports a system time correction from 1970 and obtaining an IP address, probably associated with the firmware update. Now what!?

I'm also seeing this 9/26/2024 with my HomeRun Dual. Seems to be the MacOS update which is strange since was running great on the beta up until this week when the official OS dropped.

If you're running macOS Sequoia with all its stupid Windows Vista style permissions prompts, you have to make sure any applications that access anything on the local network have the Local Network permission turned on in the Privacy and Security settings.

Excellent tip from jasonl HDHomeRun is found and recording again after a trip to Settings/ Privacy & Security/ Local Network and enabling Plex Media Server. Sequoia 15.0.
