New stations in the DC/Baltimore market

Post by decaym »

I was away for a few weeks (traveling overseas) and came home to discover some new stations. I'm able to pickup stations from both DC and Baltimore, so I'm not sure which is providing these.

Code: Select all

20006	CNN
20007	Fox News Radio
20008	ESPN Radio
20009	Todays Hits
20010	Classic Rock Hi
20012	BBC Radio 1
20013	BBC World Servi
20014	CNN Internation
20015	talkSPORT
40001	106.5 KSNE
40002	89.7 KCNV
40003	92.3 KOMP
40004	96.3 KKLZ
40005	97.1 KXPT
40011	98.5 KLUC
Months ago, there were some music stations being broadcast but those went away and everyone concluded it was just some testing being done. Will be curious to see if the same happens here.

What is the numbering scheme here? There must be some meaning behind the 10K and 20K prefixes.

Those were on DC's WIAV-CD (RF30) but are gone now. Probably another Sinclair demo or test. Might want to do a fresh channel scan to clear them out.

These music “stations” came back again for me, but I can’t play them this time. It says “no video data”. These channels appear starting at 10000.

Is this perhaps a bug in HDHDr 4K flex? Maybe there is no video for these music stations and it should play the audio it receives?

There's no Flex4K bug here. There has never been video data on the music channels. And no audio data at the moment either. Just Sinclair tinkering again.

I suggest installing hdhomerun_config_gui (in the HDHomerun Software for Windows bundle) and VLC media player if you want to have a closer look at these fleeting channels.

I just did a rescan on my box and it appears those channels have done their disappearing act again. I see both the DC and Baltimore lighthouse stations with my antenna and neither has the music channels today.
